Tow Hook & Recovery Point Advisory (Front Bumper – Gen 3 / 9Y0 Only)
The integrated tow hooks and recovery points are intended for light-duty recovery and transport tie-down applications. While convenient and functional, these points have limitations due to their integration with the OEM aluminum crash bar and mounting locations.
FEA (Finite Element Analysis) testing has confirmed that this configuration does not support high-force recovery situations such as winching from deep terrain or kinetic snatch operations. The OEM crash bar, constructed of aluminum, lacks the tensile strength required for heavy-duty loads.
Safe Usage Guidelines:

Use for trailer tie-downs or minor recoveries on stable surfaces.

Avoid using these points in aggressive recovery scenarios (mud, sand, or incline extractions).

Always use properly rated recovery gear and consider chassis-mounted recovery solutions for extreme use.
